If you’d like a little guidance from expert crafters, there are several online resources for quilters of every experience level. Whether you’re a seasoned professional or a novice, the websites we share below are perfect for discovering detailed tutorials and finding inspiration for your next projects.

Suzy Quilts

Suzy has been quilting for nearly two decades, and her background in graphic design leads her to create eye-catching, award-winning quilt designs. This quilter and blogger understands the struggles that beginner crafters go through, so her website offers a Quilting 101 course to bring you up to speed on everything you need to know about the basics. Once you’ve read through the how-to guides and tutorials, you can move on to peruse Suzy’s selection of free patterns.

Sew Delicious

There are dozens of online resources for quilters, but it can be difficult to find bloggers who provide useful information that’s fun to follow along with. Sew Delicious is an awesome resource for quilters, and there are plenty of detailed tutorials to choose from here. Regardless of your experience level, you’ll be able to find a suitable project to work toward. If you’re a visual learner, you’ll love the photos that Sew Delicious shares. Each tutorial includes a set of large images to help you move through the crafting process without confusion. Many crafters specialize in making quilts, but if you’re hoping to branch out and try your hand at a variety of projects, Sew Delicious offers an impressive array of ideas. Starting out with a small quilting project is a wonderful place to begin, but as you gain experience and confidence, it may be fun to try a zippered pouch or drawstring bag.

Each of us has a preferred learning style, and following along with a blog post or tutorial may not be ideal for your needs. If you’re looking for the structure of a class, Craftsy may be an excellent place to get started. This crafting community offers a variety of online sewing and quilting classes that are great for visual learners who like to watch exactly what the instructor is demonstrating. Online courses are available to stream, but you can also purchase DVDs to watch the instructional videos at your own pace. If you’re not looking for detailed instruction, Craftsy also offers thousands of patterns (some of which are free).
