About Cotton + Steel
Cotton + Steel is a new name in the fabrics industry. This division of RJR Fabrics was founded in 2013 by five designers. Each designer has her own unique style, but working together as a team allows them to create beautiful complementary prints, colors, and patterns. Everyone brings something different to the table, and the outcome is a variety of fresh, eye-catching, and user-friendly fabrics. This team takes pride in their ability to provide materials for every crafting need, including quilting cotton, lawn, rayon, cotton/linen canvas, double gauze, and brushed twill. Ready to try a few of their fabrics? We share a few ideas below!
1. Black and White Skirt
Spring is quickly approaching, so you may be ready to switch your warm winter clothes for something a little more light and breezy. A linen/cotton blend is perfect for crafting comfortable, breathable clothes, and Cotton + Steel’s cotton linen canvas is ideal for making clothing. Skirts are great for welcoming springtime, so take a look at this awesome vintage black and white option. Something like this is appropriate for all experience levels—there’s nothing too tricky involved in the process.
2. Simple Square Quilt
One can never have too many quilts. They’re a comforting addition to a guest bedroom or just to have on hand for easy access when you need some extra warmth. If you’d like to try a different line of fabric, this calming blue quilt design could be fun to create. Its complementary colors and blend of prints make it a beautiful addition to any room, and it’s also a lovely gift.
3. Wall Organizer
Staying organized can be a big challenge, especially if you’re working with limited space. To cut down on clutter and consolidate important everyday items, consider crafting your own pocket wall organizer. If sticking to one color or pattern isn’t your preference, try a variety of the options available from Cotton + Steel. Since the designers are so passionate about creating materials that are unique (but also work well together), you’ll almost certainly be able to find a combination that you love.
